The famous story full of magic. In this BSL incorporated adaptation, I sought to create a set that allowed this magic to burst forth. The priority was fluidity, a set that could move around and transform. Appear and disappear. Furniture on trucks, with hidden panels and trap doors revealed ghostly visitors. Taking inspiration from Victorian architecture, I wished to create a striking silhouetted world. Where an abstracted London could be drenched in shadow, all the while an atmospheric soundscape of eerie cello, violin and flute could play live, ever present from the bandstand.
